WASHINGTON (TND) — A blockbuster new report says that health centers at a major school district is offering gender-affirming care to students. One group says this is happening across the country with what they are calling a “school-to-clinic pipeline.”
Parents Defending Education Sr. Advisor Michelle Exner joined The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat to discuss the issue.
“About a year ago, it turns out that this organization had sent out a notice to all the schools. There are 14 schools they provide a school-based health service in. They said they will now, “be providing gender-affirming care,” she said. “A huge issue with that one there is safety concerns. I mean, these prescriptions, these therapies, so-called therapies have been banned in the United Kingdom already.”
A website called Neighborcare Health, an organization that operates clinics inside of Seattle Public Schools is now offering gender-affirming hormone treatment.
The organization offers a wide array of services that they provide at schools which they frame as “life-saving therapy.”
“The National Health Organization in the U.K. has said we do not have enough evidence to demonstrate what kind of long-term effects this has on children so it is banned there,” Exner said. “The fact that now this is being essentially distributed and available in schools in America is quite scary.”
